Data Storage

Local Storage Only

• All your data (lists, receipts, items, categories, folders) is stored locally on your device using SQLite
• We do not have servers, databases, or cloud storage
• We cannot access your data
• Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Account credentials (no accounts exist)
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Location data
• Your lists, receipts, or any app content
• Camera images (stored locally only)

Advertising

Google AdMob

Crate displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process:

• Device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS)
• IP address
• Device information (model, OS version)
• Ad interaction data

GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to:

• Request consent for personalized advertising

Permissions

Camera

Purpose: To capture receipt photos for price tracking (optional feature)

Data handling: Photos are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload or transmit images.

Photo Library

Purpose: To import existing receipt images (optional feature)

Data handling: Selected images are stored locally. We do not access other photos or upload anything.

Data Export & Import

You can export your data at any time from the Settings screen. Exported data is saved to your device's file system or shared via standard iOS sharing mechanisms. We do not receive or process exported data.

Data Deletion

To delete all your data:

• Go to Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data
• Or uninstall the app (removes all local data)

Children's Privacy

Crate does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is suitable for users of all ages (rated 4+) and does not require any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app and on this page. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
